| The photocatalyst performance of the GAEA processed artifical flower |
|
【*Methylene blue decolorzation test】
Evaluate photocatalyst activity by observing
the decolorization of methylene blue
Sample:
Left-artificial flower
Right-GAEA photocatalyst sprayed artificial flower (area of
one sheet approx. 25cm 2)
Evaluation conditions:
・Add 20ml (concentration 5 mg/L)
of methylene blue solution and obsrved it decolorizes
・Black light 20W×2
(distance between a light and a sample is approx. 5cm)
Result:
About 4hours later, methylene blue of
photocatalyst processed artificial flower was
decolorized almost completely.
Normal artificial flower was hardly changed
from intial stage. |

|
| [Formaldehyde deodorization test (figure below)] |
| |
| Sample: |
| Same artificial flowers used by the methylene blue decolorization test, and
empty one. |
| |
| Evaluation conditions: |
| Formaldehyde concentration of - 13 ppm, gas 1L |
| Black light 20W×2 (distance to sample approx. 10cm ). |
| |
| Result: |
4 hours later formaldehyde concentration
of photocatalyst processed artificial flower became less than harf. |
| Reduction of formaldehyde concentration in normal artificial flower is
based on adsorption on cloth etc. |

| 【*Methylene blue decolorzation test】 |
| |
| is one of the method to evaluate oxidization decomposition photocatalyst. |
| photocatalyst's decomposition function is evaluated by oxidization decomposition
of methylene bule |
| attached on titanium dioxide thin film after photo irradiation. |
| |
| There is nicotine of Cigarette as common adsorption substance for this
test, |
| however it is no easy to attach nicotine on titanium dioxide thin file
enqually therefore coloring |
| matter is used as a model substance of dirt. |
| |
| Methylene blue attached on the cloth is hardly changed by photo irradiation
or methylene blue attached |
| on titanium dioxide is'nt changed at all without photo irradiation. |
| |
| However methylene blue attached on titanium dioxide is will be decomposed by catalyst rection |
| with photo irradiation and it will be decolorized. |
| We evaluate each dec-olorization staus by comparison and such evaluation
enables us |
| to obtainb reproducible data. |
